There's no fixed price for a street poster campaign. What you pay comes down to how many sites you book, where they are, how long they're up, and the format you run.
Phantom Billstickers quotes every campaign individually, so the price fits your audience, creative, and budget rather than a set package. This guide covers what moves the cost and how to plan a campaign that gets the most out of your spend.
Four things set a campaign's price: the number of sites, locations, campaign length, and poster format. A run in a single suburb costs differently from one spread across several cities, and a week on the wall is priced differently from a month.
Our network covers more than 6,500 council-approved sites across nine metro markets, so you can scale a campaign from a tight local push to nationwide coverage. Because every brief is different, we quote on request rather than off a rate card. That's the only way to get an accurate number for the campaign you actually want to run.
Format is a big factor in what you'll pay, and we offer six of them: A3, A1, Max A0, Bollard, Super, and Mega. Smaller sizes cost less per site and work well for tighter budgets or single-area campaigns. The bigger ones cost more, but you need fewer of them to make an impression. Most campaigns come down to our two most popular formats, which sit at either end of that range.
Max A0 is our most popular format. At 900 × 1300mm, it gives your brand a strong street-level presence across a wide network of sites nationwide. It works for high-traffic areas, retail zones, and cultural hotspots, and spreads across multiple locations to build a consistent presence rather than leaning on a single site.
For a bigger statement, Super posters bring the scale. A Super measures 1820 × 2620mm, four times the size of a Max A0 and close to five square metres of print. It's a billboard-scale presence that keeps the street-level flexibility of a poster. Supers are live in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
Bigger isn't automatically better, though. Many campaigns run Max A0 for wide coverage and bring in Supers only at key sites that deliver a stronger impact.
The format sets the scale, but the campaign is more than the paper on the wall. It starts with choosing sites that fit your audience, then scheduling, installing, and managing the run so your creative lands where and when it should.
We've put up street-level campaigns in New Zealand for more than 40 years. Our account managers work with you on strategy, and we maintain the network so every site stays sharp for the length of the run. Every campaign includes real-time verification too: a time-stamped record of exactly where and when each poster went live. Your budget buys the wall space and the work behind it.

Because the cost follows the brief, the brief is where a quote starts. The clearer you are on what the campaign is for, whether that's a product launch, a brand-awareness push, an event, or backing a wider campaign, the sharper the recommendation and the price.
From there it comes down to who you're reaching, where they spend their time, which cities or suburbs you want to hit, and what you want them to do once they've seen the poster. A local event might only need targeted sites around the venue and the surrounding streets. A national brand might want coverage across several markets. Those calls shape the site count and format before any number is attached.
Length follows the goal. A short-term promotion or one-off event usually calls for a focused burst timed to the launch or the event date. A brand campaign built for recall runs longer, because repetition is what makes a message stick.
Most clients run campaigns for a few weeks to a few months. Many swap fresh creative onto the same sites partway through, so the campaign stays current instead of going stale.
A street poster stands on its own and lifts the rest of your marketing too. It can open a campaign, promote an event, or point people to a digital destination. A QR code, short URL, or social handle turns a glance on the street into an action online.
It also pairs with other physical formats. Run Max A0 and Supers together for different levels of visibility in one campaign, or take it past standard print with our Custom Shop: murals, pop-outs, shaped frames, and larger builds. Each format does a different job, which is what makes the whole campaign hard to miss.
Once you know what the campaign is for, we can build a quote around it. It helps to have your objective, target audience, preferred cities or areas, campaign dates, poster format, and a rough budget (if you have one).

Street poster advertising doesn't come off a rate card, and that works in your favour. We price each quote around your sites, locations, and timing, so you only pay for the campaign you actually want to run. That might be a single suburb or the whole country.
Tell us who you're trying to reach and what you want the campaign to do, and we'll build the rest around it.
